Established on the Year - 1935

Short History: Mudiali Club has a long history of 78 years. We started our journey well back in the year 1935 and this year our Durga Puja is stepping into its 78th year. During the pre-independence period the club took active participation in the Indian Freedom movement by encouraging youths with good physical exercises and primarily doing Durga Puja. After the Independence  in the  late 60-70s, we had emerged as one of the good team of Cricket and Football and had a good name in the field of sports and games. We had won several times John Sheild Football Tournament, South Calcutta League matches, Duncans Cup and many important tournaments during that time. Many of the famous players of those days representing East Bengal and Mohun Bagan Club had played in our club. As the days passed by we have gradually become a good and responsible club of the society by organizing many events. During that time other than Durga Puja and Saraswati Puja, we used to organize Rakhi Utsav, Birthday celebrations of several renowned freedom fighters, poets, authors, Distribution of Woolen Clothes to the needy ones. Gradually we started oraganising Blood Donation Camp, Free Health Check up Camp. We were even the Quarter Finalist of 5 O Side Football Tournament in the year 2010 organised by a News Channel 24ghanta. We are pleased to inform you that recently our club has got a 80G registration from Income Tax Department. 

In the long history of our club, we not only have earned a lot of fame for sports, games, social welfare activities but also for our Durga Puja. Our Puja has received at several times various SARAD SAMMANs, BEST PUJA Awards, Awards for Safety, Awards for Best Environment, Awards given by Govt. of West Bengal Fire Services, Kolkata Police, Kolkata Municipal Corporation & Awards from various Indian and Multinational Companies, Social Welfare organizations and Schools etc. The leading print medias highlight our Puja well in advance before the actual celebration begins. Besides, Doordarshan and other renowned Radio Stations & Television Channels arrange extensive coverage during the festival. Our Puja draws 35-40 lakhs visitors during the Puja days as per figures availed from the police records.

“THEME” CHARA “PUJO” HOBE ’ !!

DESCRIPTION: Over the last decade the word ‘Theme’ has found an all new meaning. Thanks to our society, it has almost become synonymous with Kolkata’s community pujas. On being closely observed, it can be found that in most of the cases either the idol (pratima) or the structure of the pandal (mandap) is conceptualised keeping in mind a certain ‘narrative’ or ‘theme’. This time though, as an exception we are going ‘themeless’. Breaking the mould we are glad to bring  back to you the very traditional and eternal form of Devi Durga. At the same time, not resorting to any clichéd format or theme, we look forward to treat the pandal-hoppers to an unique, appealing mandap complete with an equally enthralling festive ambience.
